“When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.”– Donald Miller
Sorry for being absent from my blog for such a long time. I have been busy for the last few weeks, juggling between work and family. I hope you enjoy this story and I wish all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day.
The Year 1996
My friend Mr. Lee introduced to me this Japanese film “Love Letter” directed by Shunji Iwai and starring Miho Nakayama. I fell in love with the film instantly and cried so many times watching it.
The Year 1997
I wrote my first love letter to my ex-secondary school dream girl. Even though I met her again, I was bashful to pass the letter to her.
The Year 1999
I wrote my second love letter to my junior whom I admired very much but kept it under my pillow for a very long time.
The Year 2001
I kept these two love letters behind two jigsaw puzzles ( 1000 pieces) pictures that I donated to the pediatric wards on the last day of my medical school. ( Actually I am hoping I can find back these letters in case they fall to the hands of criminals!)
The Year 2002
The very first year I celebrated my girlfriend’s (wife) 25th birthday, I gave her a love letter and another 24 extra love letters.
“You should have been reading my love letters since you were one year old!” I told her with my #hyunbin smile.
The Year 2020
When a lean young man became a middle-aged overweight man,
I told my wife,
“ I won’t write you love letter anymore,
I send you Julie’s love letters* every birthday because I like to eat biscuits. We can eat together and grow old and fat together! ”
“Everything I do is a love letter addressed to you.”
Appreciate and love your spouse!
